I used a Rode VideoMic and added fx sounds for the reversed footage.

The fireworks footage was shot at a test-shoot put on by a fireworks store. I shot the footage to make product videos for each of the fireworks, but decided to do something creative with it as well.

During the actual shoot there was only one firework in the sky at a time.

When I initially played some of my fireworks footage backwards I thought, hey that's cool, no one ever did this before.

There are several aspects of yours I like better than mine. I like how having a sky full of fireworks reveals the smoke trails whenever there's a blast and I really like the slow-motion bit near the end.

A program called Sound Forge. I'm using a really old version of it I bought years ago, but it works well enough and I'm really familiar with it.
