New York trip
First real outing with my Sanyo Xacti HD1000. A good variety of lighting conditions. I have a little bit of a problem holding it steady due to it's small size and weight. Subsequent shots have gotten better as I get used to holding it. Overall I love this camera. :-)

The main problem with those small and lightweight camcorders is the shake, you can avoid that with any kind of steadycam. I have the Manfrotto Modosteady, it`s a little bit tricky but you have 3 solutions in one and can fold it away - great for travelling. The hague mini motion seems good too.
I should have some more video to post soon. I had a second trip after this one but haven't finished editing it down to a manageable bite yet. :-)
- Get a 1/4-20 screw about 1" long.
- A small string about eye-level to the ground long.
- Tie it to the 'head' of the screw.
- Tie a large washer (biggest you can find) to the other end.
How to use it:
- Screw in the screw to camera tripod tread.
- Step on the washer and hold it with your foot.
- Move the string until it's tight (with the camera)
Now you can take rock steady pictures!
Try it, you're gonna be shocked how cool that is.
When you done, let go the washer and roll up the string.
You can also pan very smooth by holding the string tight.
Who needs a stinkin' tripod!
