The first time I did this I was thrilled. I was just a kid, and there was no such thing as the internet as we know it today. So finding things out like this (or bomb jumping, or the gravity jump) was always a worthwhile experience. The first time I actually reset the game twice since I had never seen Ridley get so... pink. I figured I was either very close to something or maybe his color just keeps changing the more you hit him. But the third time... when he dropped the metroid, my jaw dropped too. Come to think of it, this is the first time I've beaten Ridley on space colony (without cheating) not playing on my actual SNES console...
