Cruising Calaveras Rd. in Honda Fits.
Camera: AipteK A-HD
Camera mount: $5 dual suction cup glass carying handle
Tip: use scotch tape to cover microphone holes to prevent wind noise! Works like a charm.
Issues: constant automatic refocusing when sunny and shaded areas switch. Attaching polarizing filter might help as well as reduce overexpozed/underexpozed parts.
Imediate distance to a car ahead is twice as shorter than video shows! Zooming might make it more realistic, but will reduce view to each side and that might be a problem for a "chase" where object frequently ends up on the extreme ends of the shot. Having a in-car monitor would help as well as IR wired extender for ability to start/stop recording as well as zoom on the fly.
Wide angle lens would be beneficial as well.
Overall, it is awesome for what it is for $200!

aWILfilm 11 months agoI cruised this road for the first time this morning. Too many bicyclists and 2 way narrow road makes it interesting. -
ciburri 11 months agoAgreed! It is more fun at night during the week when traffic is minimal. Granted I encountered one insane cyclist with a light in pitch dark! He was off the bike and holding it after he climbed small hill to get of the road when he heard me approaching. LOL!
