I love the characters and the concept and the animation, simply everything.
What program did you used for 3d animation? and 2d animation?
Great work
Software used: Flash for the 2d animation. 3d is Maya (textures done in illustrator/photoshop).
colour palette and brilliant characters. Feels great !
What program did you use??
maya and FLASH ??????
FLASH??? haha
how??
U didnt use After effects??
Bye
cheers.
We like Flash because it's basically just a timeline. Birdo is the studio who worked on the character animation. Their approach is based on traditional cel animation (drawing each frame), but utilizing the playback speed and clear intuitive workflow available in Flash. Obviously, they know how to do animation- the tools really don't make that big a difference. :)
Flash was also used for the animatic.
Indeed, After Effects for compositing. Spidem Essence for espresso.
And this video is real nice, wasn't expecting this video with this song - but it fits perfectly!
The beginning makes me remind the Daft Punk's video's (Intersella 555)
For example, from my experience 3DS Max as an easier user interface than XSI, but some XSI versions offer powerful built-in keying software for special effects. One of my friends uses Cinema 4D and the lighting he's able to pull off always stuns me, which is something I don't think I'm able to squeeze off 3DS Max. I've never used Maya.
I saw all production steps in your web site. It's a such great work!!!
I read that you use traditional cel animation and Flash for animatics. Well, have you heard about TV Paint?!? It's a mix between Painter, After Effects and all tips for 2d animation. Actually it's a program for cel animators but with all flash tips. I recommend.
bye
