A swarm of space probes is sent from a planet of intelligent trees to try to find intelligent life on Earth.

This is a video of the presentation of my Master's thesis, for which I constructed functioning models of the space probes. They are crafted from twigs, branches, gourds and urethane flowers, and are powered by on-board command modules incorporating microcontrollers, data radios and various light & audio control chips.

My thesis attempts to address the question of how we (humans) construct narratives to explain the world around us, especially those narratives that attempt to explain complex behavior in things around us that appear to be alive.
