LOL. I am from the North of england (Lake District) and we do actually say 'thur', haha!!! Very good pronouncation Jon! Now living in London my accent has morphed :|. Tis CRAY-ON. Yup. ;).
Ok I just have to add my two cents to this debate to make it even more complicated - I come from the Midlands in England and pronounce 'crayon' as 'crane'. I guess 'crown' fits more to the Southern accent you have, but CRANE! PASS ME THE CRANE!
