The Dispatcher - Work in Progress that's *almost* finished!
Gah! I feel like I've been working on this movie forevah!
It all started a little over a year ago, when my friend Mary came into where I worked to help out for a week, answering phones and shielding me from unruly messengers, etc. while my boss and singular coworker were out on vacation.
Being the industrious entrepenuers that we are (and one aspiring actress (Mary) and one aspiring filmmaker (me)) we thought "hey, we've got a location, why not make a movie?!"..and so The Dispatcher was born.
We shot it pretty much every afternoon throughout the week, improving the action and shots as we went along. Mary had come up with a script pretty much overnight, smartly adding in add'l roles that we could add in post-production.
I think for something we came up with in a few days and shot in a week without any sort of budget or help, it's pretty radtastic.
I hope you all enjoy it!
Some memorial 'on set' moments:
-Having a knock on the door mid-shoot and finding it was a client, but not being able to open the door fully because he would see our makeshift "set".
-Almost overflowing the public toilet on the floor of our office building while trying to dispose of some dry ice.
