Teen speaks about being abused and beaten while in care of the Children's Aid Society
1 year ago
This video of a 16-year-old teen from Ontario taken outside of the Hamilton family court gives some insight to the many years of abuse that this girl has suffered while in the care of Ontario's children's aid society, including beatings by her CAS approved foster mother. Unfortunately, many children in CAS care suffer the same kind of abuse every day in Ontario.
The citizens of Ontario can be thankful for the efforts of teens like the one shown in this video, who say that they want to speak up for justice by telling their stories about CAS in hopes of preventing the same abuses from happening to other children in care.
Many teens who have been in care of CAS report that they would like to see greater accountability and transparency with CAS agencies, the Office of the Children's Lawyer as well as the workers with those two government funded agencies.
(Other teens in care who are subjected to abuse and who are not being believed by their workers would be well advised to use recording devices to catch the perpetrators!)
