Farne Islands
For me this is one of the top birdwatching sites in the UK. Off the north-east coast, they are owned by the National Trust. You can visit two of the islands, but each is only open for a few hours per day to minimise disturbance to the nesting birds. Puffins, shags, guillemots, razorbills - you name it. For me the stars are the puffins, and the arctic terns that so boldly defend their territory. Makes me want to go back tomorrow.
