Lower Salt River Clip 20
Wild horses and wildflowers in spring of 2008.
This area has numerous abandoned mines and occasionally wild horses are seen.
It's located south of the Salt River, north of Usery Mountains and between Salt River Tubing and Granite Reef Dam.
I suspect that the horses wander across the river from the Fort McDowell Apache or Salt River Pima Nations.
As you drive to Salt River Tubing, you can see one of the old mines (Barite) on a hillside just north of the highway.
