An interesting little canyon on the north side of Apache Trail just past the scenic turnoff for Weavers Needle.

Park in the lot and hike down the wash. You'll pass a developed spring that hasn't had much water the last few years. You can tell that things have gotten dryer by the poor state of the cottonwood trees along the wash.

The wash enters a narrow canyon with several caves on the west side. There is an interesting wooden cross on one side that is a mystery to me. As you continue down canyon you come a stock tank left over from ranching days and signs of pipe along the canyon that probably originated at the old spring.

Along the way there are also some circular depressions in the bedrock that could have been used to grind seeds by native americans.
