Before I moved the camera, I shot a minute of just the empty room, without me. Then I layered the two shots in a program called After Effects. I traced the hole using a circular mask that showed the empty shot under the performance shot. Frame by frame, I moved the mask to the right position and angle. So all it was doing was showing that empty shot through the hole. The harder part was motion tracking the wound onto the hand, since I had absolutely nothing there except a small dot to tell me where to put everything. The wound was just a picture that blended with my hand. Thanks for the interest.

lol.......i kno what after effects is...i use it too sometimes.....that was slick,...i thought u had cut a green circle and stuck it ur hand...and u kno wat i mean using a green screen...that was slick though..i might try that.......thanx for the idea
