HI "pelicula" do you speak spannish ?
i just post my reel in Comercials spots ....
I was lucky move in ecuador when i had 22 years ... i come just out the university of film school 4 years speciality in DP in Belgium ..(this school is(was) one of the best training in DP ... 4 years full time (6 ays/week -8 hours daily ....) we had professors giving us 15 full days workshops like
Sacha Vierny (greeneways films) , Sven Nisvisk, Slavek Izdiak (kieslovski) , and before death ... Henri Alekan ... (this school was "FREE" ) it is a belgian government school !!! this was almost 19 years ago ! so i move to ecuador , in a country without ANY DP, to do my first Fature film in 35mm , a film based in the 60´ ... and since, Non stop filming is my life ....
few years ago i meet my "professor" Slavek in Ecuador , we work together in "proof of life", a big production , with Russel Crowe, Megg ryan ,directed by Taylor Hackford (Evil´s avocate, Ray Charles ....) and was a big Jump up in my career ....I never do something different in my life than Photography ...
The Dp game , like you say is about doing, doing, doing !!! The problem with the classic way is : Be a assistent during 15 years, be first assistent during 5 ... and after be photographer ....
I simply JuMP over thoses 20 years ....
I think, try to find All short films you can ... if you have to do it , work for free, BUT Do photography .... so in parraleel you can build a great reel , and be sooner a experienced DP ....
DP, and photographer is the greatests job in the world , you never do the same think 2 days ....
