Awesome. What are you using to film and edit? Is that inversion technic difficult?
  • Mike Benson 3 months ago
We shot it with an HVX-200 and used Final Cut to edit. And we used After Effects to animate the masks around the riders.

    Wow. Amazing.
How did you get those effects?
I'd like to know to maybe incorporate it with my own style in some of my bmx videos.
    thanks
    great video

Thanks guys! Basically we exported two versions of each shot: One was inverted black and white and one was color. Then we used After Effects to mask out the riders, so that the color image of the rider would show through. It took a really, really, really long time. :)

    Oh, that makes. sense. haha
im a graphic designer, so i understand having to put alot of work for certain looks and feels of things.
I have no clue how to use after effects. I should look into it. haha
    great work

Congrats on not loosing your mind while roto-scoping this project... I did a project that involved this much masking and scoping a looong time ago (only took a few months of therapy to get back to "sorta" normal)... Now if I did something like that, I would use Mocha by Imagineer... which may be expensive... but, the combo of therapy session costs and time saved made Mocha worth it...

    Good work...

    Mike, I LOVE your videos.

You deserve a fucking award for all that masking.
I'd probably shoot myself before doing that.

    YOU FUCKING ROCK!
