The camera you have is well suited to that purpose :)
Am still looking for a better camera combination that could run 12 Hr recordings in HD.
Canon can do 1hr or so.
Plus it's not really suited for long term use.
What I need is:
Use it as a dash cam in car that records the entire trip.
Soon as the car in drive, it starts.
If there was no accident, then erase the entire memory but the last 30 minutes.
Then record on the next drive.
I wonder why the Chinese hasn't come up with one of these.
I could sell over 500,000 of these units.... or more.

It would lower insurance premiums if installed in car.
