Nothing special here. It just makes years and years and years I want to film the train like this but never thought before yesterday I could use the back window. Really hard to stay steady after a couple of minutes where you have to keep your hands at the same level and try not to move like your body. (Shot around 8 minutes. The file you can upload has a much better quality)

Can you set up a tripod and just stand by it to make sure no one throws it off the back?
  • Remyyy plus 7 months ago
The tripod would be perfect, but there is no place for it. It's the door that normally leads to another compartment (not sure of the word) and on the both side, there are ... toilets, youhou ! So I can't stay with a big tripod.

  • hahah Remi, you're so fast.

. (the sentence was written too fast so you can't even see it)
  • haha cute.

That works well! In a few parts the bridges flying over were in sync with the beats.
  • Remyyy plus 7 months ago
Yeah, I saw that. I think we can find what we want. For example, for me at the end, the song is changing like the trajectory of the train, first going down, then turning.

Thanks Robert ! Making a while !! Is there still some Vimeo meeting on Stickam ?
  • robert 7 months ago
I haven't been there for some time. A few times we get together but mostly not much anymore. maybe we will arrange a meeting soon.
  • Remyyy plus 7 months ago
Ok, I'll stop by to see if there is someone (I'm not living anymore at NYC time, ahah)

I see the trains go 'on the other side of the road' in France. It is a pity that very few trains in the UK have windows looking out of the back of the train.
  • Remyyy plus 7 months ago
Do you mean it's the same side as in the UK or not ?
  • Alex Gollner plus 7 months ago
Yes, the trains in France follow the UK side. Although the Paris Metro follows the other side.
  • Remyyy plus 7 months ago
I never took the train in the UK, but I guess since it's a UK invention, it's logical.

Très chouette! Oui j'ai découvert moi aussi en filmant que nous faisions appel à certains muscles de notre corps que nous n'avons pas l'habitude d'utiliser....hahahhahaha

  • Soxiam staff 7 months ago
    my thoughts exactly!
  • Remyyy plus 7 months ago
Ahah, ok !! I'll send it to you both if you want. Will take me little while but if you gave me a name for a muxtape, I'll upload the last 12 on it.
  • Paul Davis 7 months ago
I was just joking, but if you're serious.......

    =D
  • Remyyy plus 7 months ago
Ahah, take it seriously sorry but I like a lot to share music, that's to add to my naivety probably.
  • leslie plus 7 months ago
i always dig your music choices, remi. can i get in on the muxtupe too?
  • Remyyy plus 7 months ago
So I created the muxtape but for the moment, I can only upload one song (doesn't work when more). I'll try again this week end when I'll have access to all the songs I used.
    So the muxtape : thelasttwelve.muxtape.com/

    Nice!

In England, only the drivers and ticket inspectors can get to the back window though. Is it different in France, or did you ask for special permission?
  • Remyyy plus 7 months ago
No special permission. In fact, it's because there is no special "final" compartment, so it's like you could open to go to the next compartment but instead you would fall on the ground if the door wasn't locked.

fun! i always wanted to film from the back car of the trains in chicago, but i never remembered to. now it's too late and seattle doesn't have any trains.
  • Remyyy plus 7 months ago
oh, it's named a car. I translated it like in french, compartment. Anyway, sad there are no trains.

  • ojo plus 7 months ago
That' only one of Remyyys boring kind of videos, with also real boring music, composed in a boring way - as everybody knows who watches his videos. ;))

BTW why didn't you use a tripod?

    Thanks for sharing this!
  • Remyyy plus 7 months ago
Ahah, no tripod because didn't plan it and because it's between two doors going to toilets (hmm, great) so I can't put something that makes people can't go.

    What a wonderful effect.

Was this from an ordinary train with the frame rate sped up or from a fast train like the TGV?
  • Remyyy plus 7 months ago
Even the TGV doesn't go that fast, ahah. It's speed up by 10 times so it would be like more than 1000 km/h. That would be crazy, ahah but who knows.
  • Arnold Kopff 7 months ago
    G'day Remyyy.

Marilyn and I caught the TGV from Avignon to Paris. It was GREAT! And even better than the Japanese Shinkansens.

Great video Remmy. its been 30 years since ive been on a train that was neat
  • Remyyy plus 7 months ago
Impressive ! But I think considering the distances, Canada is more a plane country, no ? Or maybe teleportation.
  • Brian Boudreau 7 months ago
teleportation would be great.. would save 14 hour drive to grandparents :)

plane would be the fastest. I think to take a train across canada would probably take you at least a week? not sure

I love the thumbnail on this. Wish there is a train I can ride but Seattle only has monorail which is above ground and only 2 minute ride, there's the old train but it's more like a tour/restaurant train, and last is the real train but it goes to another state and I don't want that. HAHAHA!!
  • Remyyy plus 2 months ago
Ahah, You just have to come to France to have a good train ride !!
  •
  • Rémi Noëll 1 month ago
Hey! I did the same in Chicago (I can find the tape!)
and it's very difficult to stay steady!
