SYNOPSIS :
In 1969, the TV speaker comments the first steps on the moon and says: « This spationaute looks like the Michelin man ».

Montmartre, beginning of the twentieth century, Marius Rossillon is a witty and inventive young artist with a tremendous drive. For him things had to keep moving on that’s why the pseudonym O’Galop suits him perfectly. His art is instantaneous, in touch with his time. He is curious about everything and open to all forms of art. His sense for movement naturally drives him to animation. He is one of its pioneers and produces about 40 films between 1910 and 1927. Nevertheless he remains an artist overshadowed by his most famous creature : Michelin man, “Bibendum”. In 1897, O’Galop meets with the tyre manufacturers Edouard and André Michelin. They come up with the idea of a character dressed as their product. His talent for humour enables O’Galop to give the tyre a humanistic side. Bibendum is universal and appeals to the public worldwide.

SYNOPSIS (FR) : Tel Gargantua, Cyrano, le Bibendum fait partie des personnages qui ont fait oublier le nom de leur créateur. Marius Rossillon, dit « O’Galop » (Lyon 1867 – Carsac 1946) en est l’inventeur. Ce film explore l’univers de cet artiste.
