I always take this shot at the start of the summer. This year I thought i'd try it in Video. I was watching the Harbor and the fleet and sort of paraphrasing this Allen Ginsberg poem... so I found an MP3 and used some of it. America is the glass half full or half empty?

That is such a good idea. When I saw the title of this post I thought you meant shot as in a camera shot. Then When I saw the wine glass I thought it was a vodka shot. Now, really knowing what you meant. This was a great idea. I said that already didn't I? I mean it though

"I feel sentimental about the Wobblies."

The other day I was walking around on the west side and somebody handed me a flyer that said "Do you Know Who Your Neighbor is?" and went on to decry a local man as a member of the IWW, saying that he was a rabble rouser, a communist organizer, a man who had his own selfish interests at heart, not the interests of the business in the neighborhood. They printed his name and a photograph of him on a piece of paper and handed it to me as I walked by.

I didn't read it until later, and it made me very sad for what America is turning into. Or more realistically, what we have always been.

America I was a communist in my youth
    I don't feel guilty.

Weird logic to make a member of the IWW selfish...
I have hope. The pendulum is swinging the other way now.
America is nothing if not bipolar.

it's scary how this Ginsberg poem is so apropos to our current state of affairs (LOL the entire beat generation for that matter) kind of says not much progress has been made since their time hey? Well done once again - I really get a lot from your art! :-)

Thanks maria. I'm noodling the idea of doing a project using the beats so I'm glad you just said that.
