Twin bipolar Tesla coil - first light
This video is of the first light of my twin bipolar Tesla coil.
Secondaries - 975 turns each of 30 gauge on a 2 3/8" pvc form.
The toroids are 3"x12"
Primaries - 6 turns of 1/8" copper tube tapped at 3.5 turns. The two primary coils are in parallel and wound in opposite directions.
Power supply - Neon sign transformers. A 9000V 60mA and a 9000V 30mA wired in parallel for 9000V 90mA
Capacitor - multi-mini capacitor bank consisting of 5 parallel strings of 11 Cornell Dubillier 942C20P15K-F capacitors in series for 22,000V .0681uf
120 BPS synchronous rotary spark gap.
