Parody of "Before He Cheats"
Original Artist : Carrie Underwood
Original Written by: Chris Tompkins, Josh Kear
As Sung By : Gloria Cadena
Song : Before He Trades
Director: Raymond J. Schlogel
Production Company : Underground Planet
I was hired by Trade the Markets, Inc. ( tradethemarkets.com ) to make a parody of Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats", this version being about the pitfalls of trading stocks and commodities if someone doesn't know what they're doing. The vid itself primarily being used at conventions and trade shows for a bit of humorous brevity amidst the daily doldrums'.
It was shot over three nights with a Sony EX1. We used everything but the kitchen sink for lighting. A kit of Lowel's, a Lite Panel Micro, a Chinaball, a variety of practicals, and a pair of DeWalt Heavy-Duty Cordless/Corded worklights. The last of which I loved and stumbled on while digging around trying to find some kind of good, fairly inexpensive, cordless lights. In the vid they're light is most noticeable in the shot's on the playground (the light was inside that clubhouse thing and lit her face when she walked into frame) and then the two lights behind her in the pool lighting the plants. Very handy.
Other equipment besides the Sony EX1 was a Glidecam Jib, Sachtler Tripod, and my new favorite toy, an indiSLIDERpro. Oh, and a 15 dollar smoke machine I bought just after Halloween last year from under 20 bucks. =)
Of course, edited in Sony Vegas with some CC in Magic Bullet and light streaks from a plug in by Velvet Matter.
A huge thanks to all those involved, John, Maria, Gloria, Theresa, you all did great. And of course I would be remiss if I weren't to give props to my crew Andrew Jackson and David Wilkins, you guys rule.
