Worlds Fastest Model Boat 120.7 MPH
This is the one and only video shot of the world record run at the 2003 SAW races. The averaged two-way speed was 120.7 MPH. It was set at Legg Lake, in Los Angeles by Team JAGS from Germany and the driver was Joerg Mrkwitschka. This speed eclipsed all forms of model boating be it gas, nitro, or electric power.
I uploaded this video one time, in November 2003, to one website. From there it was pirated and uploaded to numerous websites numerous times over the last 4+ years. Due to it being copied over and over, the degeneration made the quality suffer.
The video was shot using a Panasonic VHS-C camcorder, so it is not high quality like todays equipment can do. Many comments over the years have complained about the quality. But at least here now you can see it in the best quality it was ever available in. Anyway, if it were not for my video of the event, the world would never have been able to see it.
Many comments over the years were regarding the voice in the background telling me to move my red truck. What no one knows, is that I was in a leg cast, and I was using a handicap walker to get around. I was told I could park my truck at the pit area because I was disabled. But apparently someone didn't agree. In between the two passes there was a lag of a minute or two while Joerg gathered up his wits. Randy Naylor of BBY Racing was kind enough to offer to move my truck for me so I could keep filming. For his troubles, he missed the return run. Fortunately, I filmed it and he and the rest of the world got to witness it. This video has been watched millions of times. Just one website alone I counted over a million hits on the various uploads from various people who pirated it.
I do not appreciate the people who have pirated this video and then tried to present it like they filmed it, or were there to witness it, or somehow have knowledge of what went on. And the immature, disrepectful, and vulgar comments I have seen posted on other sites by some low class and tasteless individuals has also been inappropriate.
Enjoy the video, and be sure to turn on the HD feature.
