So beautiful. Did you rescue it?

Yes, we'll release it in a few weeks. No mother or siblings around.

What a cute duck! So relaxed. Not active like the baby foxes were on your previously posted video. :(

Very cute - there is that fine line between rescuing a lost animal and one that was left short term for the mother to bring back food.

I remember when I was young I found a fawn laying in the tall grasses and actually took it with me to a rescue place...to find out that is how they are usually left while the mother is away. He was under a very tiny bush with minimal shade and tall grass. Did not look good, but then again he was very young.

My mistake, I probably should have left it.

Please show us more as he grows.

I know what you mean. We have seen calf elk laying quietly in the grass with no adults anywhere around. The mother will leave them to feed and return later.
This little guy was different, he/she was running ahead of us down a trail with no mom or siblings around and then jumped into a swiftly flowing river. No question he/she was doomed.
