The ultimate is far better, it has less or even no limits.

I know. It also costs $4,500. I switched to the SGPro.

    How is the SG Pro?
  • jmharper 1 month ago
I think it gets closer to the 16mm look than the LEX, but that also has to do with switching from Canon EF lenses to Zeiss ZF lenses. My goal is filmic, though, and the SGpro, although bulkier to carry (the LEX is much more versatile), looks better, even with the slightly higher light loss.

Yea, I see what you mean. Personally I will get the new Red next year (job sorted) but I do wonder about the post production bit.
  • jmharper 1 month ago
I'm going RED myself, probably next summer. All about the job as well. That is true about post, though. When you go RED, you're investing yourself in a lot more hard/software than some people like to admit. It's a big step.

Yes, that is as I understand it also.
I'm also not sure about FCP.
I have only used FC express and found it funny... but not sure about Pro!
Have you any thoughts on this?
  • jmharper 30 days ago
FC express is a good springboard into FCP, but I've never used it, so I'm not sure how well it compares. If you don't like FC interface, After Effects is also a good editing program; I want to buy it eventually. It's better for motion graphics, etc. although FCP is an industry standard.

The problem is, I personally am between a rock and a hard place, I must use Windows based EDIUS Broadcast & Avid, but I feel I should also be using my I Mac & Mac Book Pro.

So I will see if I can find some tutorial videos for FCP & After Effects,

So thanks a lot for the advice on that.

Lexx asked me to ask you if you are married, that girl never stops. :-)

ha, no I'm not married. So much work these days, I've got no time for a real life. Looking forward to seeing more of your work. JMH
