So, due to the popularity of my previous "Double Karaoke" clip, and the desires of my fellow Vimeo users, I decided to make another one! WHEE! This one, however, is actually me singing (with myself). Yeah...this one took a lot longer to make than the first one. But it was worth it! Enjoy!

Music: What Is This Feeling? from Wicked -- Performed by Me!

great stuff. But because it's a showtune, I can't like it too much. You know, cuz o' the eventual homosexual panic i'd go through.

It'll take more than a showtune to turn me gay. I'm secure enough in my sexuality to award this a "Like It".

After watching that clip again, I find I have a sudden interest in interior design and Barbara Streisand movies.

That's how we get you. Just like the Billy Joel musical that's really a ballet! Suckers!

    Nicely done!
I didn't even know the song was a showtune until Dave pointed it out.... I'm so uncultured.

    hmm... what is a "showtune"?
  • bluedog 1 year ago
Showtunes are songs written for theater and dance performances typically shown on Broadway in NY. It has broadened in meaning to include songs written for musicals and even movies that are musicals.

There is a particular style of music and singing that makes something typically a showtune.

clearly, a talent waiting to be discovered. perhaps a back-up career awaits. ; )

could you share a tip on how you managed the seamless split screen in post production?
  • jendreams 2 years ago
Ha, I'm glad you think it's "seamless." Um, I think it's the fact that my dresser/closet-thing just happens to have it's edge right down the middle of the frame, and that makes it convenient for cutting the different takes so that only 50% of each shows.

And also...what's the talk of a back-up career? I'm going to take the stage by storm!

    Hahaha...

When you get nominated for a Tony, will you take me to the show? I'll wear my Special Fez. And I promise to brush all my teeth.
  • jendreams 2 years ago
Absolutely. I'll make sure that you (and the snake) receive VIP treatment.

.yeah i'm slow and just finding this clip now..nice..although i dont like the song you sing TOTALLY AWESOME..in response to svanes up there..you dont need to split a clip down the middle anymore..you can mask multiple parts of clips in any spot in any editor that allows transparency and if you're really good with after effects you can simply clone.
