This is a time-lapse video I created on 28th April 2006 in Derby, U.K.

The video is made from 1242 individual photographs (1024x768).
At 45 seconds I have repeated the video again but with an arty angle to it and again at 1.29
I did this by means of batch process and recorded scripts in Paint Shop Pro X. Because these are just jpg images it means you can process the photographs in a graphics editing package and then create the video from them.

You can also watch my youtube version of this :
youtube.com/watch?v=MCiR5Reu_Mc
Notice on my youtube version I have opted for pan and zoom, this is because the resolution is limited to 320x240 pixels so its possible to move into the view but retain the quality.

It is a view of The Morledge as seen from the very top of Cock-pitt car park. On the right of the shot is the Old Derby Bus Station that was demolished in 2006.
At the top Dead centre of the view is Derby Cathedral, To the left is The Guild Hall, just below that to the left is the green roof of Derby Market Hall.

Please note you are NOT allowed to take photographs or video from the Cock-pitt car park without prior permision from Westfield Shopping Towns ltd.
I would like to thank them for allowing me to take this footage as well as some other photographs from their car park. It is no longer possible to take photographs from this view point as the car park roof is now fenced off.

Hope you like the video, please comment.

Excellent stuff. The YouTube version needs to be watched though, too!

Cheers, Yes even though the quality of youtube is not very good it forces you to be more creative because of its limitation in resolution.

Hi Andy, came across your clip via timescapes -

Nice effects!... very arty! how many frames could you capture continually on a 8 gig card?

Hi Matt, The counter on the ixus can only show up to 9999 shots on the LCD. Depends on what resolution of course but at max resolution (2272x1704) at Fine resolution (thats middle compression) I get 7039 shots which is a lot.
