After noon sunset in Tin Can Bay.
I'm trying to do some time lapse videoing.
I took this footage on the tripod and left the video camera running until the sun when down. I ran the camera on all auto settings. I editted it in pp cs3 and run the speed at 2500...we'll see what it looks like????
If anyone has some helpful hints for me as to how to do time lapse videoing I'd love to hear from you as to how to do it correctly.
Camera: Samsung VP-D107i
Editing: Abode Premiere Pro CS3 and After Effects CS3
Thanks

    That came out nice!

Good to know I'm not the only one up this late :)

    Thanks you Glenn,
Yes! I some how manage to stay up till all hours thanks to all the great stuff on here
and I get very side tracked with the diferent video style and fun things to try out.
It seems like I've always got my head stuck in here and I never seem to get any
    work done....oh well.

I thought it was really good espically the last shot where it changes colour. To improve, sometimes its good to have something static in the foreground like a tree stump or a statue that will not move like the boats do, just to give perspective and relation of size to everything in the shot. nice work annie!

    Hi Maz,
Thanks heaps for your helping hand. I will try that out tomorrow and see what i can come up with.
I did notice that when it finally uploaded and i saw the sailing boat dashed past at a million miles an hour..."A world record for a sailing boat wouldn't say?"
You wouldn't believe it I've been down there to video the boats moving around the place, and there wasn't one to be found. Oh well..thems the breaks.

    Hi Linda,
Thanks Mate. I saw your crow video earlier tonight, those ducks are soooo cute.
I can't believe the zoom on the hv20 and the clarity of it. I've made up my mind
i'm getting one as soon as i can afford it.
  • Linda McClure 6 months ago
You won't be sorry getting the hv20. It's awesome!

    Hi Annie.

That was pretty good! I particularly liked it at 1:05 when the sun finally went down and the color of the sky was instantly transformed. Magic!

It's also neat how the clouds are going from left to right and this creates an effect which makes the water appear to move in the opposite direction.

I also agree with Maz's comment about having something stationary in the foreground to "anchor" the scene. Let's say you were on a small jetty, then you could position the camera far enough back and low enough so that you could get one or two of the posts or railing into the scene. This, by way of the perspective, would also add a sense of depth to the shot.

    Cheers!

    Hi Arnold,
Thank you for your very kind words on this vid.
Yes i watched it a number of times and Maz is right after i saw it the first time and saw the yacht go pass at a million miles an hour. I think I might have found the perfect spot to try taking it again where everything is stationary and try it the way you and Maz said to.
They are starting the burn off shortly which always makes for the most amazing sunsets.
I'll keep you informed on how I'm going with it.
    Thanks again Mate.

Nicely done. It's amazing how many different colors the sky can take. It was cool watching the clouds, too.

ok - wow! I want to do a time lapse but I need a new cam first. That was gorgeous and you pick the best music!
  • Annie 5 months ago
    Hi ya again,
You have really made my day so much better,
    Thanks Dan!
Why I don't know but when I first though I'd try my hand at time lapse it scared me. I thought it would be so much hard to do but once I started it all seem to fall into place. I still can't believe it came out as well as it did, for me first effort. There's a great new time lapse channel that one of the guys has started and he is a master at it, I'll go through my contacts and send his site through to you and he is so helpful... a really nice guy.
As far as the music goes, I don't think you can go past the old Enya.. she a great backup for video music.
well I'm off again to me next video and hopefully see you there.
    Thanks Dan!

The sky really lit up nicely for you.

Lock down that tripod a bit more, though!
  • Annie 4 months ago
    Hi Tom!
Thanks for commenting on my vid and for your help.
When you say "lock down" the tripod do you mean add some weight to the bottom of it? It does have a hook on the bottom of the centre tube. Or are you referring to the leg spread of the tripod?
Sorry Mate! I'm Not always this thick! :))))
