No way. Does this work in all Powerbooks with the motion sensor?! I NEED TO TRY THIS ASAP.

This is a PowerBook G4 15" HD with the Apple motion sensor.
Any powerbook built from mid 2005 onwards i think can do it - you just need the software, XCode and not be too scared of havinng to use Terminal

Eeek. Sounds complicated....on the other hand mine is from early 2005 so i dont have the motion sensor...bummer. Awesome trick though. Have you done the Macsaber thing yet?
  • LCF 3 years ago
I have - but I have been pretty cautious with that one as you really have to wave the laptop around for it to work well

You can check if you have the motion sensor btw - go to Apple > About This Mac - click on more info. In Hardware - it will have the overview, at the bottom it should say

Sudden Motion Sensor: State: Enabled - this means you can do this stuff

You should know that I spent like, 2 hours this morning trying to get this to work on my computer. For some reason as soon as it says (in Terminal) that it's initialized, my computer freezes, even after reboots. SO ANNOYING, I WANT IT TO WORK.

Here are some links they may help:

    The actual software needed:

    Step by step visual instructions:

You need to have XCode installed for this too work (it's on the OSX installtion CD) - also you need to download the source code for desktop manager, not the final app
