This is a little footage of my old dog Pütz. He is now 10 years old, but still loves to play.

I used the Modosteady as a tripod and a hama 2in1 .65 objectiv.

    I enjoyed your video. What are you using to edit the video? My camera is still fairly new so I'm experimenting with the workflow and would love to know what others are using.

    @Haley Font.

    thx! I'm using Sony Vegas 8, which I think is at the moment the only editing sofware that works with these h264 files, ok, except iMovie, which is probably the best solution.

    After I edit a video I use the Main concept AVC/AAC mp4. For vimeo I usualy render with 3 or 4 mbps and 1280x720.

    But I'm new to that too. So, there are porbably better rendering set ups.

    Thanks so much for sharing. Can I possibly ask what "Main concept AVC/AAC mp4" is. Is that a setting within Vegas, or is it another program? Thanks again.

    It is a render setting within Vegas. Vegas has so many different possibilities to render a Clip. But I think rendering with the Main concept has the best quality. But the 3-4 mbps is only for loading it up. If I render it for myself and the tv I use at least 14 mpbs.

    Thanks. I just downloaded the trial version of the consumer level "Platinum" to see how it works. From what I see, though, I think that you must have the "Pro" version. It appears that you have to have the "Pro" version to be able to get the 1280 x 720 resolution with the Main Concept AVC/AAC mp4 codec.

    I used Ulead/Corel Video Studio Plus for the short wedding video that I did. You can work with the Sanyo .mp4 files in that program, as well, but it does not play very smoothly. However, I am going to experiment with the smart proxy options and I'm getting a faster computer, so that might help that program, too. Just like with the consumer level Sony, you can't output directly to the .mp4 h.264 format at 720p with Ulead. I had to create an MP2 and then convert it to the h.264 format in a video converting program.

    Hopefully these less expensive programs will soon give us the options that we need. I hate to have to keep re-rendering, because I feel that you lose quality everytime that you do that.

    Haley, you can set customs resolution. When the window pops up where you can choose 320 or 680 you can say customs setting and than add what ever setting you want. I thing that works in the trail version too.

    Thanks, Mos. I checked again to be sure. In the Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8.0 trial, the "Custom" button is grayed out - so I couldn't reset the resolution. Are you using that version - but not the trial? Is the custom button available on your version? I would certainly purchase the full version if that was the case.

    Haley, I don't think is is greyed out. You go to Render as. Than there opens a window. Than you choose e.g. Main Concept AVC/AAC mp4 . The next thing you can choose in this window is either Apple iPod 320 or Apple iPod 640 you click on the button left to this window. Don'T know how it'S called in Englisch here it says Benutzerdefiniert.

    Than pops up a new window. Where you can choose project settings. First thing you choose is Optimal. Than there are a few buttons on the bottom of this windwo. Project Video Audio.

    You choose Video. The first thing is Frame Size. There you choose the 1. option custom frame size. Than you can fill in the little boxes your wanted size.

    Hope you could understand my bad english.

    I'm using the Pro Version

    I really appreciate that you took the time to do this - and your English is wonderful! I think I have the mystery figured out, though. The "customize" button is only available in the Pro version - not the "Plantinum" version - which is much less expensive. I have the trial of the "Platinum" version, so I don't have all of the options that you do. I'll have to download the Pro trial and play with that a bit, I guess.
