See all Show me
Right after I moved to San Diego, I started making "vidblogs". This is the first one. Justin Johnson shot it and Rjyan Kidwell made the music. This was September 2003.

It's not too interesting, but I'm going to post all my vidblogs to Vimeo, in order, so I had to start with this one. The later ones are more visceral, less talking.

Here is the most recent one, number 15:

The fall and gimp run were the best. My friends Victoria ( user:victorianoel) made up a joke, What do you call a verbal typo? a TALKO!
  • Si 2 years ago
I think the joke would be perfect if you told it like this:

"What do you call a verbal typo?

    A TALKP! I mean a TALKO!"

Really like the beginning and your two choices of music !! Is it possible to know what is the first one ?
  • Remyyy 2 years ago
Ohh ! Is it your friend Rjyan Kidwell ? Or has he chosen the music ? Amazing again !!
  • Jakob Lodwick 2 years ago
He composed it, glad you like it, but that song isn't online anywhere. I don't think it was ever released :(

    Ok ! Thank you !!

    Four things.

    1) I feel like it took you forever you eat that taco.
    2)Tomatoes are awesome.
    3) You say (said?) "like" A LOT.
    4) I burst out laughing at "Also, I'm tryin to be a rapper." Mostly because of the "Bitch, go back to China" clip. You accomplished it!
  • Jakob Lodwick 2 years ago
The first time I watched it, I realized I was saying "like" too much.
  • Cait Oppermann staff 2 years ago
I immediately thought of the "Bitch, go back to China" clip, too. haha.

Hehe... You sit down and proceed to throw half the taco on the ground...

  • Buck Flashroy 2 years ago
I am in exactly the same position now as where you were in the video - just finished university, no blueprint for what to do now etc. Trying to be a rapper... no wait, not that part.

I really like how you begin and end this video.
  • Buck Flashroy 2 years ago
    I also don't like tomatoes.
  • Thommy Browne 2 years ago
Neither do I. But I love pizza sauce and enjoy ketchup with my french fries.

Yo yo go on an' throw down !
cool entry. The Front & end are especially awesome. & tomatoes are great for some.
Looking forward to your expanding works.

Agreed. Raw tomatoes are fucking disgusting. Semi-sundried ones are nice. Fully sun-dried tomatoes taste rotten.
  • Joel Curran 2 years ago
Im the opposite - i love raw tomatoes (like in salads and stuff) but i really dont like sun-dried at all...
  • Jakob Lodwick 2 years ago
Actually, I don't mind tomatoes anymore. I don't LOVE them, but I can tolerate them.
  •
  • tiojoca 2 years ago
Seems like everyone's taking sides on the controversial tomato-appreciation business. I'm with the "Yea" party, at least as far as raw tomato goes (we don't have the sun-dried variety around these parts).

And here's some interesting trivia about the vegetable: did you know "tomatoes" (or "tomates", as they're known in Portuguese) is slang for "testicles" in Portugal just like "nuts" in English? That's the kind of info that makes an impression at social events.
  • Buck Flashroy 2 years ago
Some more tomato trivia - it is actually classified as a fruit and is a member of the nightshade family of plants!
  • Phil 2 years ago
    Yeah! All fruits have seeds.
  • tiojoca 2 years ago
Makes sense, testicles have seeds too. We like to be scientifically accurate like that about our slang.

Haha, I loved the idea to prove you're straight.

    Is that in Ocean Beach?
  • Jakob Lodwick 2 years ago
    Close. It's Pacific Beach.

I've never had a fish taco, and that's one thing I'll never regret. Gross, just gross.

  • justin 2 years ago
Oh and I've had a ton of half-edited vb footage sitting around for a couple months now, you putting up the older stuff is inspiring me to get it done.

  • riley mcfarland 2 years ago
