2. 200 Nanowebbers
For ‘200 Nanowebbers', Semiconductor have created a molecular web that is generated by Double Adaptor's live soundtrack. Using custom-made scripting, the melodies and rhythms spawn a nano scale environment that shifts and contorts to the audio resonance. Layers of energetic hand drawn animations, play over the simplest of vector shapes that form atomic scale associations. As the landscape flickers into existence by the light of trapped electron particles, substructures begin to take shape and resemble crystalline substances.

This was really unlike anything that I've ever seen. Is this work related to the Super Hedron Collider in Europe?

The shifting focus, the organic and geometric elements! This is so great! I saw you guys first back at the Best of Optronica screening last year in Cologne. I had my piece Small Room Tango in the screening program. Then afterwards you and Addictive TV performed. Keep up the awesome work ;)

fantastic. i've been working on a project all about nanoscale science education and this realizes perfectly an idea we've had for a while. scientists talk about the nanoscale but all have a hard time describing what it looks or feels like at the nano scale. it can't look like anything technically since this realm exists below the wavelength of light. but many seem to agree that if you really want to get a sense of what it is like at the nano scale you can imagine a wild chaos full of noise and constant movement. your animation visualizes this idea we've had floating around in our heads quite well. i'll be sharing it with our group to see if others agree.

Would love to see this in hd or at least without vimeo compression! Any chance?
Absolutely love the combination of analog elements and abstract 3d forms. Are your "custom-made scripts" based on processing, vvvv?
