The Bonny Doon Fire
This is a view of the impressive plume of the Martin Road, Bonny Doon fire, recorded from my deck in Boulder Creek, California. It was shot at 4:30 p.m., June 11, 2008, about an hour and a half after it started. The 15 min of footage from my Sony HC-7 was time-lapsed into 3 minutes using Premiere Pro CS3.
At one point you can see a airplane fly by, and you can appreciate the sheer size of the plume on this 600 acre fire. 1700 residents were evacuated.
This fire and the Summit Fire two weeks earlier has been a wakeup call for residents in these coastal Redwood Mountains.
