Willoughby - Frankenstein
The debut single from LA's Willoughby, co-written by Gus Seyffert and his close friend Benji Hughes, the song is somewhat of a companion piece to Benji's song Mummy, from his forthcoming album, A Love Extreme. Stereogum said, "Willoughby is the project of Los Angeles' Gus Seyffert, who recorded and produced his debut album I Know What You're Up To largely on his own. Sonically, he said he "wanted to capture the organic, analog sound of all the great records I love -- by people like Harry Nilsson, Sparklehorse, the Zombies and Chet Baker." You can sorta get a bit of Baker's soft vocal tones and some of that Nilsson strumming (and facial hair) in "Frankenstein." We were told the song is "a love letter from Frankenstein to Frankenstein's monster.""
