Video blog with footage from June and July of 2006, and some scattered raw footage from various commercial shoots in 2005.

Just finally got this puppy finished! Everything's in place for the second part of this, with us moving into San Francisco and hanging out, etc. Look for that soon.

Well, this is amazing. I love your idea of recording phone conversations. What a great way to get narration without it sounding fake and planned out.

Why was njfilmcore backwards in the shot with Matt? Did it look better flipped?

Matt driving and 'my friend Bill' were funny parts.
  • justin plus 3 years ago
Well, it was shot with a 35mm adaptor, which flips the image vertically, so I have to re-flip it to make it look 'normal' --- aaaaand must have just forgot to flip it horizontally too.

    Looked awesome tho. Feck.

Would one of those thingies be expensivist?

I get it now, Kyle's Sony.

We went over that a little bit at my house. Shot Matt eating a bowl of cereal in my kitchen. I hope to see it at some point during my life.

I was wondering why the logo was mirrored, too. . . you and your fancy red rock micros. Greg swears by something called the "movie tube"

Great images...what kind of camera do you use?

Also, what commercial shoots were you doing?
  • justin plus 3 years ago
I use a Canon GL1, I've had it for like 5 years and I love it.

The commercial was for an online game called Stick Arena:

Oh, I've heard those are pretty great! Coolness...it looks really good.

Fricken sweet commercial too!!!! Was that also shot with the GL1? You guys set up lights or just the stuff in the room?
  • justin plus 3 years ago
Some of this stuff was shot on my friend's Sony HD camera, so it wasn't all GL1.

Yup! We had a whole mess o' lights and a boom and mic and everything, it was lots of fun, but damn do those lights get hot.

    Amazing. Very nice work.

I love that it looks so simple but I know if I attempted one of these vidblogs it would be a pile of crap.
