I was in the production of A Midsummer Night's Dream this last week and I played the part of Hyppolita and Puck. This was my first experience with stage combat, so my skill isn't that great (stop laughing at me Say Jay). Hopefully it will get better with more experience.

I thought you did quite well -- certainly better than one of my first experiences with stage combat.

I was in a production of Israel Horowitz's "Rats," where I played the elder of two ghetto rats fighting over who was gonna get the little black baby in the room.

The script called for me to punch the younger rat in the gut. Rehearsals went great. Opening night, when the time came, I knocked the guy out.

Let's just say we had to go "off-script" for a few minutes....

Yeah, actually one night of performance he didn't move the sword out of the way during the last bit and he walked into the sword. Luckily his neck was only scratched a little.

Surely that ending wasn't in the real production... Looked like you were having fun fighting.

That was decent the swords in the starting still looked like light sabres.
    Impressive.
