"I used to have a neighbor that is in the military. He was in Iraq when his wife called and wanted me to do some electrical work in their home prior to his returning. She wanted to pay me for the work, but I declined and asked her to thank her husband, Tom, for all that he and his brothers in arms were doing to help keep this country safe. I got into my truck, and by the time I got to the end of the block I had written this song. I am truly proud of our fighting men and women. When this Iraq conflict started, it was somewhat fashionable to shake a soldier’s hand and tell them thank you. But that soon was left off. You don’t see it so much any more. I wrote this song to let our fighting men and women to know that there are more than a few people in this country that are rooting for them. God bless them, and God bless America.
