The Fibro Twins strike again! Director Mike Hargis takes us along for a visual excursion deep into the manic phase of bipolar disorder. Set to the amazing middle-eastern influenced sounds of The Trolltones of Louisville, KY, this short non-narrative art film was shot in high definition over the course of 15 months in eight states. Also, the video includes several pieces of art by the late David McCann. We hope that you will enjoy this glimpse inside the mind of a filmmaker. Thanks for watching.

Wow, what an emotional project. What inspired you to do a piece on the nature of such complex disorder?

    Inspiring work.
  • The Fibro Twins 2 months ago
Thanks for your kind words Fabián. My inspiration is my own experience, particularly the struggle to remain focused on a project. The music itself was also very inspiring to me. Originally my intention was to create a music video for this song, loosely based upon a childhood memory of the composer. However, the intensity and beauty of the music inspired my manic imagination into a thousand directions. I eventually abandoned the original concept completely and simply allowed myself to get swept along in the current of my own thoughts. Being as how my film making style is very much in the zen school, this transition was quite seamless. Anyway, the result of all of this synaptic drama is what I've posted here. I'm delighted that you've enjoyed the work. I have certainly enjoyed everything that I've seen posted here by you, and I find inspiration there as well :)

The result of such an exceptional, 15-month, journey is a fresh and highly effective glimpse into the complexity of the human mind, and a privilege to experience, Mike.

The perfect fusion of sound and sight is as immersive as its content. Thank you for taking us along.
