Went down to Pittsburgh and ended up doing some art at the Mattress Factory with Dave Conrad (Phil of Arc Along the Watchtower fame). He did a piece about all the books he hasn't finished reading.

this was the early releas dvd with no bonus features except ten minutes of blowing up the temple in slow motion to a syth score by coppola and his dad... it was for a possible nepalm strike deep in Cambodia ending, but they went with the sacred cow sacrifice. I don't think they used it in redux, but I've only seen that a couple of times.

Thou I really wanted a voicover for the whole movie, coppola did talk about the nepalm shot and it was fucking beautifully shot. I think he was glad to take it out of the can and show everyone how he spent a hundred grand on something that didn't go in the movie.. but he was probably stoned when he thought of it.

What!? This is really amazing editing. The apocolypse strained through the everyday, as if the end is seeping through the cracks of the average and now requires capital "A" Art to point out that it's happening. I don't know why it makes me think of this, it just does. Great music too...partying at the gates of doom and all that sort of thing.
