Snow Day!

Good thing I work from home.
What's up with that lady's accent at the end?

That lady (Jen Hogan) at the end sounds like she might be a South African that has been in America for a while (and now has a strange mix of the two accents).
Atleast I assume this is the same Jen Hogan. In my defence I hardly scoured the web to find out - I literally googled 'Jen Hogan Portland Reporter', and this was the first link that it returned.
I guess it is intense though.... snow is such a rarity and it always catches us portlanders with our pants down.
Portland doesn't have the equipment to deal with this stuff, tho.
In my hometown of Charleston, SC, even a hint of snow in the air throws them into a panic.
Also, it was our 2nd snow day in the campus's history, the other was 13 years ago.
Great idea to play the audio from the weather report.
I remeber that whenever we got snow in Seattle, the city would shut down, half an inch would be enough.
Seattle DOT doesn't have the equipmet or manpower for this rarity.
I grew up in the cascade mountains, so it would take more like ten feet of snow to shut down a town.
Thanks for the video, brought back memories.
If it snowed here, I'm sure the city would shut down - but in a good way. A holiday would be declared, I'm sure of it. But right now, we're having blackouts because of the bushfires. The air smells like smoke.
Snow is soooo much better than hot weather.
Still, I like waking up to that nonsense. It's kind of comforting because they sound the same as they did when I was a little kid getting ready to go to school.
memory. charleston used to have a radio station - WOKE - with a certain jingle. It was still around when i was an adult and if i happened to hear that jingle it took me back. especially to a time when pop's mother was in town from delaware and staying in my bedroom. so i was staying on a cot next to granny's side of the bed. i guess it was for a few school days at least 'cause i remember waking up to their radio alarm with that jingle. i think it was actually soothing to me.....i always hated having a room to myself. granny had pop, harry had randy, and i was alone. i thought that stunk.
WOKE Charleston radio, WOKE Charleston radio, WOKE Charleston radio, the talk of the town.....(to chimy type music)
i wish it snowed in england :(
the last accent is definitely a welsh accent!
