Every time, BrownPolar heard Ralph Vaughan William’s enchanting ‘Lark Ascending‘, he wondered how other animals and plants might respond to the beautiful and reverberating songs a lark sings all day long, and dreamt about making a film of the possible conversation amongst these wonderful creatures and the landscape, just the way William is known to have conceived the tune.

Having no access to even a portable video camera, that dream never came to fruition, until, very recently, when he happened to see ‘Earth Pilgrim’, a beautifully conceived and executed BBC Nature documentary, largely shot in Dartmoor National Park. He promptly recorded it to piece this video together. It is rough and ready, but good enough we hope to convey the message that: how beautiful nature is when there are no repulsive humans in the frame?
