I'm a bit pissed off with this today, but I'm uploading for my blog to record all the ups and downs of the project. I've been working on the transition from the film bit to the phone for the last week or so, without having seen it all edited together (stupidly), and I really don't like the result. The string bits just don't fit and feel too out of place and over complicated. And the colours are wrong.

Back to the drawing board...

but the bird animation is greta and the phone bit is cool so all in all its just the middle thats ....er.....umm.... uncool?

i wouldnt say the middle bit is 'uncool', I like it, is it handpainted film? but it does seem a little lengthy, especially with no sound/music. could maybe incorporate some flashes of 'neater' images that would reflect the phone conversation?

... or would that be cliche?

Yeah it's ink on 16mm. I like the middle bit, just not the end of the middle bit. If that makes sense. I think if I cut out the string bit it should be about the right length once the sound is there.

i like the idea of the middle; the static-like marks. an antique phone may be nice.

middle bit is beautiful, you are right about the different styles. its a very tricky thing.

Maybe the middle part is just too long for the importance it has...maybe adding some details just in place while it occurs, don´t know...don´t be that hard with you, it´s cool and you´re working on improve it!...that´s the point! :D
