Nomad Moment - Frati/Cameron

This was a short Giulia Frati and I shot for a Nomad Moment in Montreal's Chinatown. We all picked a fortune cookie for inspiration, and had to shoot and finish the film over the weekend. We stopped people on the street and asked them to write their hope for the future in one word, in any language.

Shot with a Sony HVRZ1U and the Letus Extreme with a Zuiko 135mm f2.8

I like the mood from the people you guys picked and the music really drives the point in, it reminds me of a video i saw on youtube where a guy and a girl hold a board that says "we give free hugs" and you see all these people smiling and hugging; definitely a feel good video. We need more of these on the networks!!

and did you made something for the lighting ?
  • Ian Cameron 5 months ago
It is just the street lighting, which was not very much so I opened up to 1/15th. At that shutter speed, the sparklers provide a fair amount of light.

Great video! I love that look.
Which mode was this shot in?
    1080 60i? Cineframe?
I'd love to get a Letus Extreme with a Zuiko 135mm f2.8" for my Z1U.
    Awesome work!

I think it was at 60i, but at about 1/15th since the light was so low.
