*TURN UP YOUR SPEAKERS*

I've wanted to make a video with Reggie for about six months; we finally made it happen last night. It couldn't have been a more pleasant experience -- I couldn't be happier with the end result.

Please do not upload this to any other video sharing sites.

Jakob, you should state that none of this was manipulated by editing. It's incredible!

The slow motion part is so good!!
  • Jakob Lodwick 1 year ago
    Yeah, really.

You can tell it's real because the camera zoom remains constant even when he goes back to normal speed.

Can you say...record deal? Push this out there and someone will sign him.

yeah, and just under 20 megs for a 5.5 minute video. wow.
  • eat a bug 1 year ago
    How did you export it?
  • MARCY 1 year ago
the image quality is almos freakishly good.. like its almost too much.. woah.
  • dalas verdugo 1 year ago
    looks like it's:
    AAC, Stereo (L R), 44.100 kHz
    H.264 Decoder, 400 x 300, Millions
    29.97fps

These are pretty much the settings I recommend in my tutorial video, except he has changed the dimensions to 400 x 300, which are the native dimensions for the flash conversion.

I think I like this clip the most. More than other people. Is there a way I can connote that? Because as of now I just have the same "like it" button as everybody else, but I think I like it more than other people.
  • Jakob Lodwick 1 year ago
That would be cool. Digg has something like that... I think it's called "My #1"
  • Amir 1 year ago
I was just joking, but we're really onto something here! I just wanted a button that stated I was the biggest fan of this clip.
  • Thommy Browne 1 year ago
^ Yep, it's called My #1. Once you click the my #1 it appears on your profile page before your digging history. I find this feature very useful.

no, no, no ! it's me I AM the biggest fan of this clip !! just A-MA-ZING !
  • soma 1 year ago
Nope sorry, I AM the biggest fan of this clip. I don't think that you other peeps get the pure unadulterated awsomeness of this video.
  • Paul McClintock 1 year ago
You obviously don't realize that this clip made me pregnant. I think I am the biggest fan.

The ending is very clever. How many takes did you make?
  • Jakob Lodwick 1 year ago
We recorded 3 different songs, this was the last one. But it's completely improvised so the idea of takes doesn't really apple.
  • Thommy Browne 1 year ago
I'm impressed that he did not slip up. Go Reggie!

    He's so talented!

I really liked the zooming at the beginning. It was so slight, that I didn't realize we were zooming until you had us right up in his face. A very impressive clip!

  • andrea 1 year ago
wait, so he slowed himself down? Because I was going to ask how you got slow motion that didn't have degraded picture quality...so he did that himself?? If so, I say YIKES that's unbelievable! And apropos nothing, he has beautiful hands.

Reminds me of bobby mcferrin, but with a funk and street spin on it. Bobby's style is more slow/relaxed jamming, where Reggie seems to be sending a strong energetic pulse through his beats.

It's like sunbathing on a beach vs. dune buggying through a desert

O-o-Oh my gawwwwd, this was dope!! totally amazing song, collaboration, whatever you wanna call it, and great filming too Jake. Nice lighting and sound...was it just the on-camera mic?

THIS IS WHY I NEED TO LIVE IN A PLACE LIKE NEW YORK!!!

    *bangs head against table repeatedly
  • Jakob Lodwick 1 year ago
We used two audio inputs: the on-camera mic, and a direct-to-camera XLR cable straight from the loop machine.

The sound quality will, I think, be higher in our next video.
  • eat a bug 1 year ago
What kind of camera were you using then?
