1. Ooh Yeah - dancing headphones
A stop-motion animation of 8 funky headphones doing an 80s style dancefest. We took over 1500 pictures in 3 days using 2 camera's. We've enjoyed making it, hope you enjoy watching it...

That's very well done! By the look of it, you've timed each photo to play at a 1/8 note length? Must have taken a lot of planning?

Thx for the great reactions. It's our first upload ever so we're glad you guys like it.

@Glenn no planning really, we just got started early in the morning with one headset and gradually added the 7 others, making them do every move we could think of and taking pictures of every step (20h straight last friday). It took us 3 more days to get the timing right and make the pictures 'dance to the beat'.

@ Pieter: dat is toch evident he

    I like the idea.
But I miss a little more synchronization of the movements with the rhytm of the song.

What camera and lenses did you use please?
  • beshart plus 9 months ago
Craig, this one was shot with 2 canon EOS 350D camera's and standard 18-55 canon lenses. No fancy stuff I'm afraid.

'Love will make you blind' and the making of were shot with 3 450D cameras. they come with remote control and canon utility - pictures immediately show up on the laptop screen so you can easily edit as you shoot.

Interesting video. What frame rate did you use?
  • beshart plus 5 months ago
    I'm not sure, I'll check.

    Thank you )
  • beshart plus 5 months ago
Hi Lidia, i'm the other head of beshart....
I edited this video with a framerate of 25. every 0.2 seconds we placed an image. so you'll need a lot of images... and patience ;-)

Glad so many people enjoyed it.
But can someone please explain to me where this renewed interest for our dancing headphones comes from?
  •
  • Lidia Churakova 5 months ago
I am doing a stop motion project as part of my class this summer, so I am greatly interested in all technical details. This video is so well done that I couldn't help asking (^^)

it looks like the images are moving slightly faster than the beat... if you do something like this again, I recommend finding (or making) a song with a tempo that corresponds directly to the rate at which the photos change.
