Baby left at St. Luke's Hospital under new Iowa 'safe haven' law
6 months ago
A newborn baby boy was dropped off at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Tuesday, July 15, 2008. The dropoff is the first under Iowa's new 'safe haven' law, which allows parents to drop off newborn children if they don't feel they will be able to properly care for them. An emergency room physician at St. Luke's talks about the issue in this video, produced by GazetteOnline's Michael Barnes.
