Moving abstract images are removed from context. Their origin is opaque. Graceful motion, odd shapes, unusual textures and details are generated purely by the physics of light reflected from the surface of water with no computer graphics.

The title, Minamo, is Japanese for water surface.

HD images play on the walls of cubes made of four screens with rear projection from inside the cube. Screens are made of weather-proof material mounted on steel frames 12 feet or higher. Viewers can see the cubes from a distance or walk up close without causing shadows or obstructing the views of others.

The footage of each cube plays in loops. Cubes look different every night.

The installation of a single or multiple cubes may take place at a few sites simultaneously. Ideal are outdoor spaces with open views from a distance, for example downtown river banks and rooftops of tall buildings.

The best time for the installation is August through September when nights are longer and the weather is warm.
