Here's a test with my 35mm Adapter now named gt35pro and HV20 in standard cafe light which i consider to be low light. Notice the grain which is caused by the HV20 cmos noise combined with a little noise from the 9 micron vibrating focusing screen. I like the film look here. The settings on my HV20 are: 25 shutter, canon FD 50mm lens at f1.4

9micron ? what kind of GG is that ?
i know of the canon EE-A and EE-S, is yours better in quality ?

My focusing screen is different from the canon EE-A and EE-S
this is made of ground glass ground from 9 micron grinding compound.
It can be touched and handled and can be washed using soap water. If you touch the canon screen, it will be damaged and it's your money down the drain. Quality should be somewhat similar except that some users have experienced ghosting and other wierd optical effects in certain conditions with the canon screens.

A little bit too much grain in the fist scene. And the shutter effect is bit exagerated....not fluid. I will check your blogspot out for more info.

Great image for a 260$ adapter.

What do you think of your bokeh? Is there a way to improve it, even with a 9µ GG?

Will the adapters work with consumer cameras - Mine specifically - Sony HDR SR11 - 37mm filter threads?
  • Greg Tay 1 year ago
Hi, of course it will work with camcorders with 37mm thread. It was tested on my Canon HV20. Once I finish building another unit I will test it out on my Sony HC7.

Not sure what willem is talking about,i think the bokah the 9 micron creates is rather pleasing but everyone sees things a bit differently im not expecting 35mm camera bokah from a hv 30 and a dof adapter so its beautiful for what it is ,if you want the best you can get from a 35mm adapter than spend 9grand on an sgpro or just buy a red.

Does anyone know where i can buy grinding powder. Anything from 5 to 20 micron would be good. Preferably available in the UK but if you can find it in the US send me a link and i'll check the postage options.

I want small ammounts if possible because i am only going to be experimenting and making myself screens. Any ides?

you can google up these keywords lapping polishing. I can't put the company name here as I am now selling this product. The company I buy from is a company from the UK.
