Great video, Shreve. Rather than rap type music .. or any music, can you post the videos with the natural sound? We'd love to be able to actually hear Charlie while he's engaged in his activities. :)

Sea Wolf: Charlie's extremely silent. He doesn't make any noise except for the occational howl or growl, but never when he's playing. All you'd hear is a bunch of grunting from Chloe.

The music doesn't do much for the video in my pov. But I did enjoy watching them play together. Poor Chloe, she can't keep up with Charlie..yet ;)

Great video!!! It's amazing to see them get along so well!

I have to agree with Sea Wolf though, I would rather hear the natural sound then any music. Even if it's just Chloe grunting.

    Keep up the great work!!!

Hope this doesn't sound snide, because I don't mean it to be, but there's a volume/mute button on your computer if you don't like the Beastie Boys!

Thanks Shreve for sharing these precious moments. I love seeing pics of Charlie, Eli and Chloe. I am so thankful for you to share these with all of us. It is the highlight of my day at work when things get rough to stop and see something so awesome.

Shreve - we are all taking bets on how long before Chloe starts "herding" Charlie and Eli -- with Border Collie genes - it is just a matter of time -- Now THAT video I REALLY want to see! Ha! xoxo =^..^=

loved the video. Remember, Charlie is still a coyote, not a domesticated dog.

I like the Beastie Boys, too. saw them live in KC, Mo one year.

There was a pack of coyotes I used to hear at night when I lived in OK. Lots of deer and rabbits. I miss hearing them.

Charlie is wonderful. I live in a mountain area and we have an occasional coyote sighting in my front yard. Populated area. Not as cute as Charlie

Thank you for sharing Charlie with all of us. I am a loyal fan and check in on him every day.

I live in Los Angeles and frequently see Coyotes in my neighborhood. Just yesterday a very handsome Coyote crossed Sunset blvd on Vine street right in front of my car as I drove to work. (It was 4:00 a.m. so there was little traffic.)

All species can live in peace, including the human species, if we cast aside our prejudice, and see with our hearts and minds, instead of our pre-conceived perceptions...

I love receiving new information on their relationship and all news about Charlie! I only wish I could give him a hug! What a beautiful little soul!

Chloe sooo has it figured out - she stays put or runs in smaller circles, forcing Charlie to do most of the running. ...And to think, Shreve, until Chloe came along, you had to channel and run off all of that incredible energy of his all by yourself! Great video!!!

Too cute! Charlie is so funny and Chloe is so adorable and roly-poly! hehe

I wish I had Charlie's energy! Oh, the things I could do! ;)

Great way to start my day here in Seattle . . . what lovely creatures. And the Beasties were perfect! Good choice. :)

I don't understand the PP's comment counseling (us? you?) to remember that Charlie is not a domesticated dog. Well -- duh! So he shouldn't be allowed to play with them?

Anyhoo, not intending to provoke any conflicts, just wanted you to know that that *I* think that your message about the uniqueness of living with a wild animal in a domestic situation comes through LOUD AND CLEAR on your blog, and you seem incredibly respectful of the fact that Charlie is a who he is (and you wouldn't want it any other way).

Keep the videos and of course the pics coming. They are delightful!

It's fun to watch them, isn't it? My two dogs go after each other with a vengeance and love every minute. Amazing how they seem to play so rough, yet never hurt each other.

I LOVED seeing this! Thanks Shreve for sharing a life most of us envy but not many could really handle. And Jenny has it right - Chloe has it totally figured out so she gets to play while Charlie does most of the work!!

Chloe is sooo cute! She's like a little white ball tumbling around compared to Charlie. She's so much smaller, but she has so much spunk!

As an ex hunting and fishing guide, I find it facinating that this coyote is so gentle and loving in it's play with your puppy. In real life, the result would be quite different. Human love and caring that has been given to this beautiful coyote is a gift beyond words.

So much fun! Thank you SO much for posting this. It took me back to when we brought my 2 yr old Afghan Hound to a friends 5 acre plot and turned him loose with his Dobie. Brandy ran over the Dobie just like Charlie runs over Chloe - until the Dobie started turning corners. Than Brandy shot right past him, fast but NO corning ability, unlike the Dobie.

I'm looking forward to seeing them when Chloe is older and faster. :)

What a nice Saturday morning treat! My grandkids are visiting and they loved the video and asked many questions about Charlie and the rest of the pack (you included, of course!). Thanks for sharing your life experiences. Be well & take care.

Love it!! I always enjoy watching an older animal playing with a youngster, because they obviously gauge the little one's limits.

I can vouch for the silence, by the way -- our Huskies and Malamutes don't make a peep except for the occasional growl when they're playing and wrestling. Wolves, coyotes and their primitive domestic cousins aren't noisy animals unless you live near a fire station. ;)

Shreve, Can't email you any other way it seems. PLEASE, post information on how someone can buy a copy of your new book that has been autographed by you. Many thanks .. =^..^=

Thanks for sharing this. I live on Galveston Island near the state park. At this time of year the youthful coyotes are starting to get curious. I have been "stalked" several times for miles while walking my dog. The coyotes seem non threatening. My neighbor with two Labs said she caught her dogs playing with the coyotes. I have been online trying to find out whether this is really a dangerous situation or just canines being canines.
