5. Never Summer
A short I shot in the Grand Lake, CO area and the Snowy Range, WY area over a few days. A couple of focus issues here and there, but overall I'm pleased with how this turned out.

Shot with Sony EX-1, no Letus or 35mm adapter, on Sachtler head/sticks, cut in FCP, graded with Color. Music by Kosheen.

Superb video. I loved the colors and the way you edited it to suit the music. Your effort shows off well.

Love it! Great work Justin. I was wondering, the sections with rapidly moving water got somewhat pixel-happy and I have this issue as well when exporting... Anyone have any suggestions?

I think what you're talking about is a compression problem. In simple scenes without much movement, a low bit-rate compression (like used here for the web) does ok, but when ALL the pixels start moving in every frame, it has to ditch some of that movement in order to stay under the bit-rate cap. More complex scenes require a higher bit-rate for adequate playback, i.e., in complex scenes forced to a lower bit-rate, you get lowered quality and motion artifacting that looks weird.

Couldn't have said it better... I wonder if there is a way to keyframe variable compression rates for select segments of a video?

I know that FCP has the ability to add markers to chosen points in your sequence or clip, which then in theory affect the resulting render, but I've never tried it out.

Do you do any of the color stuff in your picture profiles? Do settlr for default and do the rest in post?
