Just curious if you had to get a permit to film the Brooklyn Bridge from the MTA train? I was told by a conductor on an MTA north train out of Manhattan that I cannot use a camera on board the train.

My incident happened on 6/30/2007, a Saturday, off-peak hours. I and two friends had the entire car to ourselves.
I did write the president of MTA, the ACLU, the Mayor and two other organizations about this. The MTA responded in a letter from Peter A. Cannito, stating that the MTA does not prohibit non-commercial video on the train. Hmmm... maybe the conductor saw my V1U and thought I was doing a commercial video.. but in any sense, they really shouldn't have any concern about it if the action is not bothering anyone.
